2016 Ron Morgenthaler Shelton Valley Enduro

Join us for our 35th Anniversary!
The staging and camping location of the 2016 Puget Sound Beginner Enduro School, Beginner Enduro, and the Ron Morgenthaler Shelton Valley Enduro is at the abandoned runway on the Port of Shelton Property.  The entrance is 9/10 of a mile north of the Fairgrounds, off Hwy 101. There will be signs!  
The 2016 Shelton Valley Enduro is happening on April 30th and May 1st 2016 just north of the old Mason County Fairgrounds. (See map below).This NMA points event begins with a enduro school and beginners enduro on Saturday April 30th. The full enduro takes place on the following day:  Sunday May 1st. 


The event gates open at 5:00pm on Friday, April 29th. Do not show up early.

Shelton Valley Enduro School & Beginner's Enduro



On Saturday, April 30th Puget Sound Endure Riders present an enduro school starting at 9:00am.  This excellent instructional opportunity consist of an informal session. You will get quality time with the expert instructors who will discuss the rules, course layout, timekeeping basics, setting your clock, riding "possibles", scoring, strategy, and much more! This is a great opportunity to get your feet wet with a fantastic timekeeper enduro event in some of the best terrain in Washington State.  


After the school, the riders will get their bikes checked and the first rider out will be at 11:01 am.  The riding terrain is not for beginning riders - this a medium difficulty terrain on an approximate 30 mile course. It consist of slow speed averages and there will be sweep riders assisting riders experiencing difficulties.



This is a great event if you are interested in enduro's and want to try your hand a running an enduro. This can be a great family event, but this is not for beginning riders:
The trails are medium difficulty.  Come out and experience some of the best trails in the Pacific Northwest - which are only accessible during these sanctioned event days! Awards for all riders finishing!  Competition license holders are not eligible for awards.


Sign-up and Event Timings
  • 8:00am - 9:30am - Sign-up
  • 9:00am - 10:30am - Enduro School & Riders Meeting
    • Expert instructors will discuss the finer points of rules, course layout, timekeeping basics, setting your clock, riding "possibles", scoring, strategy, and more.
  • 10:30am - 11:00am - Sound Test
  • 11:00am - 2:00pm - Beginners' Enduro
    • First rider out at 11:01pm; 3 per minute until last rider is out.
  • 3:00pm - Awards
Awards for all riders finishing!  Competition license holders are not eligible for awards.

THERE WILL BE NO GAS AVAILABLE ON THE BEGINNERS COURSE. Be sure you can ride ~35 miles on a single tank of fuel.

Shelton Valley Enduro



This NMA Points Event begins with sign-ups at 7:00am on Sunday May 1st, 2016. There will be a discount of $10 for all pre-entries received by April 25th, 2016 - so get your entry in early! Print the registration sign-up from the flyer here. For the 2016 PSER Shelton Valley Enduro there will be Jart Charts, Finisher Pins, and over 30% awards - keeping up the great tradition of our hosted timekeeper enduros here in Washington State. Be sure to ride these excellent trails which are only available during this sanctioned event.


Courses

This years enduro will feature 2 courses, a short course and a long course; both courses will have gas available.

Short Course

The short course this year is ~50+ miles. There will be gas available.  Bring one can.

Long Course

The long course this year is ~85+ miles. There will be gas available on the course.  Bring 2 cans.

Camping

There is FREE self-contained dry RV camping - so join us for the entire weekend and have a great time with the entire family! Please NOTE, there is no Sunday night camping nor are campfires allowed.
